I called today to find out if there were any rooms available at the Killeen Plaza and they said that the hotel had been completely booked by Keita (not for the convention, but *by* Keita) and by the Jehovah's Witnesses convention happening the same weekend. Apparently there are no rooms for convention attendees at the $69 rate (or at all).

The person at Killeen Plaza sales said something about having setup an overflow block of 25 rooms at another hotel nearly. I didn't bother getting the details, but this all seems like information that should be made available here.

I'll talk to keita about this and I'll let you know what's going on when I get an answer.

I heard that the Howard Johnson Hotel is the overflow hotel. I don't know how many rooms are available, but the lady at the Plaza said there are some rooms reserved over there. I just look at it like any other con. You snooze you lose. I'm getting my room now! Anime Fest and Anime Central are like that. I ended up going to the Double Tree last year instead of the Ramada when I went to Acen. It was a couple more blocks away, but I got two beds and air conditioning. Let me know if you find out more info.

The howard johnson is filled up too. I'm staying at the Rodeway Inn. It's only $60 a night through priceline. I really wish I had talked to my mom about the convention earlier, She was wanting to rent a room at the convention itself. Jehovas Witnesses and an anime convention? Are they having the two event on different floors of the hotel? It just doesnt seem like a good mix to me.

The Jehovas Witnesses and Animix will not both be held in the hotel. The Jehovas Witness thing will be held somewhere else in Killeen but some of them will be staying in the plaza. During the time when the Jehovas Witness thing is going on all the hotels in Killeen are normally booked out til the thing is over with, thats why they keep building new hotels all the time.

Ahhh okay. That explains it. But yea if your having trouble try yahoo, or priceline, or hotels.com, or umm cant remember what the other ones are. But ya get the picture.
