NEED ANIMIX STAFF!

Postby AsianEyes442 on Wed Dec 26, 2007 5:12 pm

We seriously need Staff for the AniMix convention. As of right now I have two staff members working for AniMix Con 2008. These include myself as director and friend Hightower who is in charge of the Dearlers/Artist Alley. There are lots of positions to be filled and we are looking for responsible individuals.

OPEN POSITIONS:

SPOKESPERSON: Looking for someone with good public relation skills, and a good speaking voice to talk to our sponsors, MC at events, and someone who likes to be in front of the camera to talk to press about the convention. I need to see something like video footage of you being on camera or something that I can hear of you speaking. The spokesperson should also look the part. He/She should dress to impress and should look professional.

GUEST RELATIONS: Looking for someone to be in charge of guest relations. They would be responsible for making sure guests had snacks/food, give the guests a tour of the facility/town, possibly pick up the guests from the airport/train station, and be able to assist the guests concerns and needs. The guest relation person will have help from chosen volunteers as assistants.

SET-UP/TEAR DOWN CREWS: Looking for dedicated people to help make events possible. Crew is required to help set-up and tear down events and help make AniMix run smoothly. These are important positions and I'm looking for serious inquiries only.

All staff receive AniMix t-shirts and badges that will signify your position and entry into all AniMix events.

More positions will be available soon...

I signed up for four hours a day as a Runner, but I'm more than willing to work more hours (full time, even) in any of those areas if you need the help.

-I don't have a video or anything to show for the Spokesperson position, so I'm not sure about applying for that. Unless I could track down a video camera.
-I've lived here for seventeen years, so I'd probably do well with Guest Relations, running errands for and giving tours to guests and such.
-I'd probably do okay in the Set Up/Tear Down section as well. That seems pretty straight-forward.

I can also see if I can recruit others to help out. About how many more volunteers do we need?

Please do more recruiting. Give me a little time... I may put you in charge of guest relations and just recruit more volunteers.

Thanks Kat,

Aye aye! What should I do if I find more volunteers? Just e-mail them the form? Have them e-mail you? How many do we need? I don't want to under- or over-do it. "Kat got a little recruit-happy and now we have a bajillion volunteers! Hotel rooms for all!"

I've only found two or three people interested in volunteering so far. I'll keep looking.

I understand fully the need for staff help so I'd gladly help out. I thought Mike was helping on Guest Relations? E-mail me, theproz (at) gmail.com. I'm always willing to help out other conventions.

JRock/Jpop Panel

Postby AsianEyes442 on Wed Feb 13, 2008 5:39 pm

That sounds very interesting... Please give me some idea of what you will do in the panel. I actually think that panel idea would be easily approved. I'd be happy for you to run that panel.

Thanks a million,

Well what do you like to do? What would you like to be in charge of? Let me know and we can go from there.

Thanks,

Well in a cosplay panel i explain the meaning of cosplay explain how a new cosplayer would go about choosing a character, give examples of different cosplay ideas, give resources for new cosplayers and etc and etc.

In a jrock panel i play jrock videos , licensed of course. Explain what visual kei is , matina and other genres of Jrock and normally have a drawing to give away the masses of jrock posters i accumulated while I was in Japan.

If there is something else you wanted me to do im willing to run a panel about everything , i love public speaking.

JRock Panel

Postby AsianEyes442 on Thu Feb 14, 2008 7:04 pm

I think the Jrock panel is a great idea! I'm seriously going to put that in the program. And since you like public speaking.. I have a side job for you. If i get wrapped up with things from the convention and I don't have time to talk to the press... You can fill the PR representative position that I posted on the top of this topic. Please consider it... It would eliminate one of those positions.

Think it over,

Dang it!

Postby AsianEyes442 on Wed Feb 20, 2008 7:46 pm

Well, the spokesperson job is yours. Now one job down, one to go.

Dang it! you are the 20th person to ask if there is going to be a rave... I call anything over 20 popular demand so... AniMix Con will have a RAVE! Whoot! If anyone asks whose idea the rave was...say "cause Nantaku said so".

It's Ravie time. Look out for announcements on the website.

Currently looking for a DJ <looks left and right>
